The non profit association France-Hawai'i is pleased to present the fourth edition of it's Festival on Hawaiian arts in Paris from September 10th thru the 12th, 2021. In partnership with the NGO Plante et Planete we will propose, on Friday September 10th, 2021, a Hawaiian dance performance followed by a conference / round table entitled Biocultural Conservation in Hawai'i, a Model of Environmental Sustainability for the Futureof our Planet. Hosted by three experts in biodiversity and Hawaiian nature conservation, Professor Sam Ohu Gon, the assistant director at the National Tropical Botanical Garden of Hawai'i, Michael J. De Mottaand one of the most influential Na Wahine Alakai (women leaders) of Kaua'i Island, founding member and former president of the Na Pali Coast Ohana non-profit community organization, Sabra Kauka. Throughout this weekend we will offer workshops: traditional dance, lomilomi massageas well as Hawaiian crafts, learning the Ni'ihau shell lei technique and a braiding workshop in lauhala leaves.
